Move to Moneization: Bumble's Business Model

As a newer application, the focus of Bumble is to first increase their user base. Following this, there will be moves to monetize the application. There are many possibilities for the future, including making Bumble and paid application (as it is currently free), integrating advertising, or offering “freemium” services on top of the current content. Another possible method is making the entire app paid, which might not be effective with many similar competing free applications. Another common way to monetize applications is by allowing companies to advertise through their platform. Even with the widespread, viral success of Tinder, the application has seen issues in monetizing its user base. As Bumble gains a foothold, it will also grow to face some of the same issues.

Though Bumble is not currently monetized, they received investment as a start-up. At the moment, they are focused on gaining a user-base. Though founded in California's Silicon valley, Bumble is offered in 18 languages globally. The founder herself, Whitney Wolfe, has gone to events like sorority parties offering merchandise to sorority sisters who had invited 10 of their friends to download the application. Their target market is females aged 18-25, as they believe this audience will attract more males as well to the application. Having a larger user-base would attract more investors and potentional businesses who would market to Bumble users.

The overall goal of Bumble, as a product of Bumble Trading Inc., is the eventually bring in money for it's owners.
